The Virginia QSO Party was a lot of fun. It is now over except for the work.

So far I have received 92 logs via email. Going to be interesting to see how many we get.

I think this will be a really big Virginia QSO Party. Many people have expressed interest and we appear to be getting a substantial amount of publicity.

Dick, W2YE, has been coordinating an operator schedule for K4NVA. If you want some operator time at his station, please email him (w2ye@arrl.net).

In addition, Kevin, W4KLS, will be operating from his home station as K4NVA on digital modes.

Hi,

It is the time of the month for a SPARC meeting. The past month went by much too fast. I give the VQP presentation at a couple of club meetings and met a lot of interesting hams. I also managed to get on the air for the ARRL International DX Phone - I understand that Jim, AF4MO, did also. Jim called me Saturday morning to ask if I had been on the air and at that time, he had more contacts then I did for the entire contest. I almost hate to hear how Dick, W2YE, and Don, K7CS, did in the contest.

The presentation this month will be a film. Dick, W2YE, and Forrest, N4UTY, found a couple of films on the internet. A couple on Dxpeditions and one on vintage radio. You will have to come to the meeting to see which one gets shown.

The Virginia QSO Party is coming up soon. Maybe we can convince Dick, W2YE, to lead a discussion about what we are doing for the club station for the event. All should come with some idea as to when they can operate at the station so we can put together a tentative operator schedule.

Finally, we can continue our discussion about the upcoming Field Day. I think the first topic should be our operating location. Last year, I believe we all had thoughts about more suitable operating conditions. Maybe we can ask Russ, W3RST, for some ideas. In addition, at the last meeting, John, N3QT, proposed some additional wire antennas. Maybe we can have some additional discussion on that topic.
