Hi,
We will have our Sunday Stand-In on Sunday, 21 February, at 1300 at
the amphitheater at Claude Moore Park (near the visitor center). We
may move across the parking lot to pavilion if it is not being
used.
For the Stand-In, we bring masks, do social distancing, and enjoy a
lot of talk.
The weather says 33 deg, with low cloud cover, very low winds, and
with zero percent chance of rain. Dress to be warm. We will be
alright.
Remember not to park on the grass - you could get a ticket or
warning.
Hope to see you all there.

Twelve attendees. Two on the 2M repeater and the remainder on Zoom.
Kevin, W4KLS, was the host/net control.
Three jokes were good enough I repeated them to my XYL.

Hi,
A good meeting. Fifteen members and guests attended.
The presentation on IEEE MOVE was very informative. Jay Diepenbrock,
KM4EP, was an entertaining speaker. MOVE is a mobile satellite
communications vehicle with built in power supplies and allows
internet connectivity through direct LAN connections and WiFi.
Responds to disasters in coordination with Red Cross activities.
More information at https://move.ieeeusa.org/. Thanks to Marty,
NV3H, for arranging the presentation.
A few jokes slipped in. The best was the one about the snow plow.
See you at the 2M/Zoom Net meeting next Wednesday at 8PM.

Hi,
It is time for our monthly SPARC meeting. Wednesday, 3 Feb,
STARTING at 7PM.
My refreshment will be a chocolate cookie and a root beer. I know -
a walk on the wild side, but once in a while you have to let go. HA
HA
Marty, NV3H, has arranged another great presentation for us.
Jay Diepenbrock, KM4EP, will talk about "The IEEE MOVE truck, a
Disaster Response and STEM vehicle." I did not know that IEEE was
into disaster relief and it will be interesting to learn about the
IEEE contribution.
We also have at least one item of club business.
The Virginia QSO Party is coming along very well.
I would like to propose SPARC sponsor one of the plaques this
year in memory of Dick W2YE, and Ray, KD4RSL.
It is also time for us to try to do some solicitation of ham from
"rare" counties and independent cities. I will ask for volunteers
to help.
Please try to join us. Our presentations are interesting and it
will be fun to see everyone again.
