Wednesday 2M/Zoom Net - 29 September at 8 PM - SUMMARY
Hi,
Really excellent 2M/Zoom meeting. Nine attendees.
Really good jokes also. I noted 5 for later recital to my XYL.
We talked about risk of COVID. An interesting article at:

We also talked about the October Monthly meeting on Wednesday,.6 October. The emerging feeling was that we should try an in-person meeting with Zoom. Run Zoom on a laptop and project it on the big screen so we can see the remote people. Loudoun county policy is wearing masks in county buildings.
Still up in the air bout whether to have a booth at SterlingFest.

Our regularly scheduled Stand-In is this Sunday, 19 September, at 1 PM. Normal gathering place. The amphitheater adjacent to the Claude Moore Park Visitor Center. May be more crowded this this weekend because the weather is looking good.

Hi,
Excellent meeting. Ten members attended.
We did have a few notable comments.
Bill, WJ4U, discussed his train trips. He took a tour which included excursions on 10 old trains operating at different sites primarily in Colorado. Tours included travel between train locations on a tour bus and overnight accommodations. Arranged through Vacations on Trains.
Paul, KK4AIA, mentioned the.Bluemont Fair is this coming weekend, 18-19 September. There is also the Shenandoah Valley Apple Harvest Festival this weekend at the Frederick county fairgrounds.

Monthly Meeting Wednesday, 8 September, at 7 PM - SUMMARY
Hi,
We had 13 attendees. All contributed to the conversation. Several making progress towards getting on the air.
We need a volunteer to coordinate the SPARC booth at Sterling Festival on Saturday, 9 October. John, KK4AHY, volunteered to bring a battery and his "GO" kit with a radio.
We will continue the Wednesday 2M/Zoom nets at 8 PM for the near future. We will also continue to have the Stand-Ins on the 3rd Sunday of each month at 1300 at the Claude Moore Park Visitor Center.

Monthly Meeting Wednesday, 8 September, at 7 PM
Hi,
We are having our monthly meeting this coming Wednesday, 8 September, starting at 7 PM. Zoom connection information is below.
I know we originally planned on having an in-person meeting at the Sheriff's substation. However the risk of getting COVID is increasing and the community room we normally meet in is fairly small. We will try again in October.
We will start the meeting with introductions. All may take the time to relate recent ham radio activities and other major things happening in your life.
We will follow this with a "Show and Tell." All should have something to show and tell us about. An old piece of radio equipment. A new piece of radio equipment. Your shack. The chair you sit in. Your new car. The haircut you did or did not get.
If we still have some time, we can also have a Treasure Hunt. Offer interesting things to others. I, for example, may open up an old plastic container, see what is inside, and offer things to someone in need. If others have tings they want to sell or give away, now is the time.
We have one item of club business to discuss..
We are still looking for someone to coordinate our booth at SterlingFest on Saturday, 9 October.
We will then hear from our club officers.

However, we will NOT be having an in-person meeting.
