Monthly Meeting - Wednesday, 7 June, at 7PM - SUMMARY
Great meeting! Excellent presentation. Eleven attendees. All in-person.
Mike, WA8AHZ, oru ARRL VA Section Affiliated Club Coordinator, gave the presentation. "State of our Hobby." Very good treatment. It is attached. Mike is very much a promoter of the hobby and enthusiastic about helping club grow.
A couple of folks suggested that I, as the president, make a list of the things that I do so that others may find activities they may be interested in. I will work on this.
Field day is coming up. 24-25 June. Still short a fiew operators and folks for a feew bonus activities. Paul, KK4AIA volunteered for some night SSB operator duty as well as being the safety officer.
Kevin, W4KLS, has a joke.

Monthly Meeting - Wednesday, 7 June, at 7PM
It is time for our in-person monthly meeting. Wednesday, 7 June, at the Sheriff Substation. We will NOT be on Zoom or the 2M repeater.
Refreshments: Need a volunteer to bring some cookies and drinks.
Our special guest this month will be Mike Aimone, WA8AHZ. Mike is our ARRL VA Section Affiliated Club Coordinator. He will talk about "The State of our Hobby." Mike was very helpful to us during the last Virginia QSO Party as he helped publicize the event and he promoted the ARRL Volunteers-on-the-Air initiative during the event to help with promoting interest. It should be an interesting presentation.
We can also talk about a few upcoming activities.
Field day is on the 24-25 June. Just a couple of weeks away. We have emailed around the draft plan a couple of times. We still need operators and a few volunteers to do bonus activities. We will mail the draft around again very shortly.
We have scheduled the next Tech Class and Exam for Saturday and Sunday, 29-30 July. Amit, WY2Z, will coordinate the classes. Mike, WB8RDN, will coordinate the exam. Evan, KM4SK, will do some publicity to attract students. We are trying to increase the number of classes per year and also run a general license prep class, if there is enough interest.
We also need to have some volunteers to be officers of the club. Excellent opportunity to get involved and to meet very interesting people.
