Wed. Night ZOOM 12 July 2023 - SUMMARY

6 attendees.
(everybody got in this time)
No real ham radio this past week even though Kevin, W4KLS, moved his radio from one Subaru to the other one.
Discussed the start time for the ZOOM net. 4 suggested 7:30 pm. That would be right after dinner hour and preclude starting other projects that would interfere with joining the net. 1 suggested start time remain at 8:00 pm.
The other 2 didn't care when it started as long as it was before 8:30pm.
Maybe an earlier start time would increase participation.

None of the new licensees showed even though Evan sent out a very nice invitation.

Each attendee told about hobbies they do or did other than amateur radio.

Most got into amateur radio by doing swl to foreign stations and lw and mw frequencies.

Two did model trains. One liked biking and swimming.

There was also a short discussion about us older gentlemen keeping up our calorie intake for better health. Like 1200 calories minimum per day. True that's not amateur radio related but it does affect our capability of doing anything.

We ended the evening with reminiscing about areas of D.C. and Virginia and the attractions or distractions of them.
