Radio Equipment For Sale

Hi,

We have some radio equipment to sell.

Art, WA4NTP, and Sarah, N4GVM, are downsizing and offered their station to "let beginning hams buy the equipment through SPARC with half the sale price going to SPARC and the other half to me." Art is a past member and president of SPARC in the 1980's.

There is a complete station. He boxed up the equipment before his last move 15 years ago and has not used it since.

I have the equipment at my house for anyone to view. Come over anytime during the evenings (6-9) or this coming weekend (0800 - 1700). 12315 Streamvale Cir, Herndon, VA. Please call to ensure I am home: 703-437-8287.

I will accept offers from anyone on an auction basis with the objective of making a lot of money for the SPARC treasury. Preference will go to new hams and especially to anyone who wants to buy the entire station. I will try not to break up items that go together (radio and hand mikes, amplifier and power supply, etc). If it is not sold in two weeks, I am thinking about a booth at Berryville Hamfest.

Feel free to pass the list around to people who might be interested.

Here is the equipment list. The equipment list in PDF format is also attached.

Jim's jukebox rides again

Hi,

As many of you may remember, Jim, KF4PQL, had a popular Saturday morning show called Jim's Jukebox on the radio station in Leesburg for many years.

More recently, Jim has combined his love of old records and broadcasting with periodic appearances on WNMB.

See below for information on his next appearance.

you have an opportunity to link to www.wnmb900.com
and click on the jukebox, I hope you will
listen in for the old 50's hits.

Hi, key SPARC Field Day folks. Here is the results of our activity as I have submitted to ARRL. The documentation package will be mailed shortly. Let me know if you see any problems.
Despite a revised location and new software package, I think our results were outstanding. If my submission is accepted as submitted, we actually broke 10K points!

Bill, WF1L, emails:

Here's a link to a new type of video ham instruction and education series put on by Bob Heil and Gordon West. The "show" is a recurring series called Ham Nation and this show they interviewed W3LPL and W3RA about the W3AO Field Day station along with soldering instruction, questions about operating practices and other topics of ham interest.

See http://twit.tv/hn7

I thought it was pretty informative and thought it might be good to pass it along, especially to Chris who might really enjoy it and find it helpful as he prepares for his exam.

All the previous shows (6) are also there on the website so you can start at the beginning and work your way thru all of them.
