February Monthly Meeting - 1 Feb 23, at 7PM
It is time for our February monthly in-person meeting..IN-PERSON at the Sheriff substation at 7 PM.
We need someone to bring refreshments. Volunteer??
The presentation will be by Ron, WA6YOU, on "BASIC HAND SOLDERING: The Proper Tools and Methods." Ron has visited us twice before and each time it has been a very entertaining presentation. This one will be also.
We also have a couple items of club business to discuss if time permits.
The Virginia QSO Party is coming up on 18-19 March. All should have that weekend set aside for making QSOs.
We are also sponsoring the Volunteer-on-the-Air effort by ARRL for the week of the Virginia QSO Party. Even, KM4SK, has posted a signup sheet for the event at:

We are tentatively scheduling the next Tech Class and Examination Session for Saturday and Sunday 25-26 March. The last one we cancelled due to lack of students and examinees. We hope this one will be better. Amit, WY2Z, is the class coordinator. Kevin, W4KILS, or Gordon, NQ4K, will coordinate the exam session.
We do not have a volunteer for the Tech Ten Tech Talk at the end of the meeting. If anyone want to volunteer, please email back.

4th Incoming QSO Bureau - Margarete, KB4IKU (SK)
It is with much regret that I inform all that Margarete Lindsley, KB4IKU, passed away this morning. She was 92 years old and living in the Atlanta area close to her son, Carl.
Margarete was our very long time bulk sorter. We knew her only for a short time. I met her originally after the previous 2-letter prefix 4th call area incoming bureau manager, Dick Maylott, W2YE (SK) passed away, and I became the bureau manager in August 2020. We delivered unsorted bulk mail and picked up sorted cards from her every other week until she moved to Atlanta in last June to be nearer her son. Always willing to talk and always very sharp, until she moved, she lived in the home that she and her husband Tom, K2SPG (SK) purchased over 50 years ago.
She will be missed.

January Monthly Meeting, Wednesday, 4 January, at 7PM - SUMMARY
A very good meeting. We had 15 attendees. A very lively bunch.
Collected some dues. Took a group photograph. See attached. Will post this to our website on the Activities web page later today.
We did not have a Tech Ten Talk, so we told a few jokes.

January Monthly Meeting, Wednesday, 4 January, at 7PM
We will be having our IN_PERSON monthly meeting on Wednesday, 4 January, at 7 PM.
Adrienne, K3MAF, will be bringing refreshments. In the past, Red, N3TG, would bring Christmas cookies and treats prepared by Adrienne. She is continuing the tradition.
After introductions, we will have a "Show and Tell." All should bring something to talk about for a minute or so. Preferably something ham radio related, but anything will do. I promise not to bring the Heathkit SB-200 linear amplifier that we are trying to sell.
Then we will have a White Elephant Exchange. Please bring a small gift in a bag or wrapped. Preferably something you have at home you no longer want. But other things are welcome also. Put on the front table and we will pass out numbers to set the order of selection. I promise not to "gift" the Heathkit SB-200. HA HA
We also will take the opportunity to collect dues for the year. $10 will do it.
We will take a group photo of everyone who is there.
We can also discuss the status of the Virginia QSO Party and the upcoming Tech Class and Examination Session.
We can conclude with a Tech-ten Talk. But we need a volunteer to do this. 5 - 10 minutes including question time. Please email if you are interested in doing this.

Wednesday 2M/Zoom Net - 28 December at 8 PM - SUMMARY
Hope everyone is safe, healthy and has made their resolutions that they have no intention of keeping :-)
Well the last Zoom/2 Meter net of 2022 is in the books.
We had 7 Zoom check in's and 2 2 meter check ins.
Special thanks to Paul, KK4AIA, for handling the RF side of the house.
One of the 2 meter check ins was Craig, N4FSC. For those of you who may remember Craig designed and built the original Herndon repeater for the old Herndon Repeater Group way back when it was on top of the "upside down" building at Route 28 and the Dulles Tool Road.
A friendly reminder that this Wednesday is our monthly in person club meeting at the Eastern Loudoun Sheriffs office on East Frederick Drive Sterling, VA
