H,
The May monthly IN-PERSON
meeting will be help on Wednesday, 24 APRIL 2024
at 7 PM at the Sheriff Substation in Sterling starting at 7 PM
This is a change from being on he first Wednesday of the month and
due to a scheduling conflict.
We do not have a scheduled speaker. But we do have a couple of
things to occupy our time.
First, Rhett, KQ4GWZ, will talk about the results of his
investigations into "newfangled” computerized testing. When he took
the exam, he attended an exam session in person but was offered the
opportunity to take the exam wither on paper, as we normally do it,
or on a tablet. He chose a table. Rhett has been a VE at a couple
of our exam sessions and, based upon consensus at the last in-person
meeting, is looking into how we might implement computer based
testing for our exam sessions. It might be prohibitively expensive
for us and it might also require more people resources that we can
muster. But the topic is worthwhile hearing.
This is in conjunction with Evan, KM4SK, mentioning the ARRL is
offering grant for amateur radio activities. Potentially funding
for this could be the subject of a grant. Alternatively, if someone
has a good idea for a grant, please bring it up at this meeting.
As an activity, Gordon, NQ4K, will lead a session of HAM TRIVIA,
a game, similar to Bar Trivia, where we break into teams and
complete for a valuable prize. Should be interesting.
See you at the meeting.

He asked his neighbor what he should do.
The neighbor said to ground him until he learned how to conduct
himself properly.
Women spend more time thinking about what men are thinking,
then men actually think.
What does a computer eat:

My neighbor asked if he could use my lawn mower.

Hi,
The month of March went by very quickly. It is now time for our
April monthly In-Person meeting at the Sheriff Substation starting
at 7 PM.
The feathered speaker will be our own Henry, K2BFY, who will talk
about "Using Linux." I have linux on a couple of my machines and
sometimes I do not remember that I do so, especially when there are
notable differences between version of MS Windows. Henry
presentation will be good.
Hope to see you at the meeting,
